He came from a volleyball family and his father, Arno van Solkema, was a member of the Dutch national team and a professional coach. Reck is a soccer player when he is young. He quickly made a sign after moving to volleyball at the age of 14 and won the fourth place at the European youth championship for the Dutch U20 national team in 2018.
