Top prospect Gage Jump will join the Athletics’ roster when starter Aaron Civale was placed on the injured list, according to multiple reports Tuesday.
A left-handed strikeout pitcher, Jump has fanned 56 batters in 38 innings over nine starts at Triple-A Las Vegas this season. The 23-year-old has walked 20 years and posted a 4.50 ERA with an 0-2 record.
LSU’s second-round draft pick in 2024, Jump is the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect. 41st in baseball per MLB Pipeline, which ranks him third among A’s prospects behind shortstop Leo De Vries and left-hander Jamie Arnold. Arnold was the 11th overall pick in the 2025 draft out of Florida State and currently plays at Double-A Midland.
Civale was pulled after four innings on Monday, raising a red flag with a drop in velocity that manager Mark Kotsay traced postgame to problems with his right shoulder or lats. Party A said Civale would undergo testing on Tuesday.
He allowed seven runs on nine hits and one walk, throwing just 73 pitches in Monday’s 9-2 loss to the visiting Seattle Mariners. He allowed five runs in five innings to the Los Angeles Angels last week, when he said he had been “working through” his arm issue “for a while.”
His fastball averaged 88.3 mph on stadium radars Monday, more than 3 mph more than his 2026 season average.
Civale, 30, is 5-2 this season and his ERA sits at 4.20 through 11 starts. Before facing the Angels and Mariners in the final two runs through the rotation, he had a 2.70 ERA. He gave up 14 hits (six home runs) and 12 earned runs in those two games.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.
In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.
The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
