For these three clubs, the hope is that 2024 will bring players to build the foundation around
In sports, there may be no more important position than quarterback in football. While some teams have had success that have never happened before finding their men to build a team around, others have gone through purification fire to find something close. With the NFL draft behind us, there is a front office anywhere that spends a lot of night trying to make sure they have the right QB (if not) to become a franchise face. This is mainly valid for three clubs, all who experience extraordinary difficulties find someone to lean for various reasons. It’s time to dive into why they finally do it right, or maybe, why their search will continue far beyond this design.
The clear team to start is Chicago Bears, which has the whole choice No. 1 for the second year in a row. The Bears did not have a Bonafide starter since Jim McMahon was the man during the 1980s. Since then, Quarterback who has played in Windy City has given various results. Rex Grossman (remember him?) Is the man when Chicago goes to Super Bowl in 2006 (losing to Indianapolis Colts), and the franchise thinks that their people at Jay Cutler in 2009, but the inconsistency and turnover equated disappointment in the end. The latest experiments involved Justin Fields, chosen by Bears with the 11th pick in 2021. The reason why Fields will end up being traded to Pittsburgh Steelers can and have been debated for weeks, but the next man is a former USC QB Caleb Williams. Feelings about Williams will be discussed later, but for now, say confidence in him is not as high as the mainstream media displayed.
Sitting with the second choice of draft this year is the Washington Commander. Like Bears, this is a music quarterback for a better part of the last three decades for Washington, who has seen 27 players take their turn in that position since 2000. In 2012, they thought they had their men in the form of Robert Griffin III, and there was a reason to believe that this was the case after Griffin III won this year’s rookie. Unfortunately for players and teams, injuries will thwart RGIII’s careers, and the commanders will switch to Kirk Cousins, which are taken in the fourth round of the same draft. Cousins played quite well as a whole, but could never lead Washington through the Wild Card round from the playoffs during his term of office. Since seeing the cousin left to sign a recording contract (at that time) with Minnesota Vikings before the 2018 campaign, they had not chosen a consistent starter. The latest competitor, Sam Howell, was just traded to Seattle Seahawks last month. So who is the next to try to strengthen QB’s position in Washington? The question seems more difficult to answer than for Chicago, but former LSU Quarterback Jayden Daniels is an option. For the sake of commander, let us hope No. 28 is more consistent than the last.
Finally, let’s move down the military service to No. 12, where Denver Broncos lives. In a large scheme, Broncos is not as bad as the first two teams. However, they are lucky to see the two best quarterbacks ever wearing their uniforms (John Elway and Peyton Manning). Outside of those years, it has been up and down. Before the 2022 season, Denver felt they had a list that was ready to compete for the championship, and the missing part was QB. So they decided to exchange good results from the draft picks and players to Seahawks for Russell Wilson, then signed it to a five -year contract extension, $ 245 million. The next two years did not lack disaster, and Wilson is now with Steelers (like fields). Meanwhile, Broncos eats $ 85 million of dead hat money, and they are once again in the market for quarterback. In an effort to fix this ongoing problem, they got Zach Wilson from New York Jet on Monday, and that would not be surprising if they achieved others. Apparently, Ji Nix, who can be in the next row, depends on who won the competition to start who came in Denver.
It’s no secret to finding a future quarterback never ends at the NFL. Some teams (Kansas City Heads, among others) do it properly, but it seems that most of them cannot. More often than not, this is a different year, the same problem. In this year’s quest edition, six of the first 12 choices are QB. Bear, Commander and Broncos hoped that this was the year they ended their nightmare search. Of course, we have to see these people really go up to the field and play before making determination, but if we leave the projection before the draft, I will say there is no in Chicago, Yay for Washington and neutral for Denver. Personally, I feel Daniels is the best quarterback in the draft, and never high to Williams (maybe an unpopular opinion). For Nix, I can see a solid starter, but it might not be enough for a starving and impatient fan base. Its beauty is that we will begin to get the right or wrong answer immediately, and for these three teams, a break from South Korea will be close to heaven.
